Choose a stone sink and faucet as a pair, not as two separate purchases. Before you order, put the selected sink drawing, faucet specification and mounting surface on the same plan and section. Check where the outlet sits, how the basin will be used, which openings are required and who will confirm the final arrangement.
A faucet described as “tall” is a starting category, not proof that it suits a particular basin. Likewise, an attractive product photograph does not establish the position of a plumbing rough-in.

Start with the exact models and mounting arrangement
Record the sink model and proposed configuration, then the faucet manufacturer's complete model reference. Keep a link or dated copy of each relevant specification. A similar-looking model from the same collection is not a substitute for the selected model's documentation.
Next, identify the faucet's mounting surface: the wall, the surrounding countertop or a designated area of the basin. Separately identify how the sink is supported. These are different decisions; a sink's installation category alone should not decide the faucet location.
For an existing bathroom, mark the fixed constraints before choosing the pairing: the finished wall, backsplash, counter edge, existing openings and accessible plumbing space. For a new layout, show which positions remain adjustable. This prevents a preferred faucet from being treated as compatible simply because the room has not yet been drawn in enough detail.
Compare outlet height and reach—not overall height alone

On the selected faucet drawing, identify the dimension ending at the water outlet and the reference point used for its horizontal projection. On the sink drawing, identify the rim, usable basin and mounting surface. Compare both drawings from the same finished surfaces, rather than putting two unrelated catalogue numbers side by side.
For a vessel arrangement, review the basin and counter together. For a wall-mounted faucet, show the finished wall face rather than an unfinished construction line. Ask the project team to resolve any missing reference point before a rough-in location is approved.
A useful distinction: overall faucet height describes the fixture's envelope; it does not, by itself, tell you where water leaves the spout relative to the basin.
Look at the inside of the basin
The outside outline helps place the sink on a counter. The interior drawing answers a different question: where is the washing space relative to the proposed outlet?
Show the inner basin profile and drain position alongside the faucet. Do not treat outside width as usable washing width, or estimate a missing interior profile by subtracting an assumed rim thickness. Request the relevant drawing instead.
Consider a hypothetical renovation with a vessel basin and a fixed backsplash. The preferred faucet appears tall enough, but its outlet sits close to the rear of the bowl in the coordinated section. Choosing a taller faucet with unchanged reach would not, by itself, move that outlet farther forward. The decision might instead concern faucet projection, basin placement or the pairing itself. The drawing helps identify which question to resolve; it does not prove the combination's splash performance.

Keep the waste connection in the same review. Confirm the drain opening, selected waste fitting, overflow configuration where applicable and access for servicing.
