Artisanat - OIXDESIGN

From sculptural stone tables to natural stone sinks, bathtubs, vanities, and custom bath pieces, our work is guided by material character, proportion, surface quality, and long-term use. Every curve, edge, basin, tabletop, and finished surface reflects the balance between natural stone and skilled hands.

STEP ONE

Stone Selection

Every OIXDESIGN piece begins with material selection. Different stones carry different strengths, textures, tones, veining, pores, and surface behavior. Marble, travertine, granite, onyx, quartzite, sandstone, limestone, riverstone, and other selected stones are considered according to the product type and project direction.

A stone table, sink, bathtub, or vanity does not begin with shape alone. It begins with understanding what the material can become.

STEP TWO

Cutting & Proportion Planning

Once the stone is selected, the block or slab is cut according to the intended form, size, thickness, and structural requirements. This stage defines the basic proportion of the finished piece and helps determine how the stone’s natural movement will appear across visible surfaces.

For furniture, this may involve tabletops, bases, and legs. For bath pieces, it may involve sink basins, bathtub forms, vanity surfaces, and integrated stone details.

STEP THREE

Carving, Shaping & Hollowing

This is one of the most important stages in natural stone craftsmanship. Stone sinks and bathtubs require careful hollowing, shaping, wall thickness control, drainage planning, and edge refinement. Stone tables and sculptural furniture require precise shaping, balanced structure, and smooth transitions.

Each form is shaped with respect for the material, allowing the natural character of the stone to guide the finished design.

STEP FOUR

Edge Refinement & Surface Preparation

After the main form is shaped, the edges, curves, corners, basin transitions, and visible surfaces are carefully refined in preparation for the final finish. This stage improves comfort, proportion, surface consistency, and the overall balance of the piece.

For stone sinks, bathtubs, vanities, and tables, this step helps ensure that the finished piece is not only visually beautiful, but also practical, comfortable to use, and ready for long-term daily living.

STEP FIVE

Hand Polishing & Final Finishing

At OIXDESIGN, the final finish is completed entirely by hand. Instead of using machine polishing, our artisans hand-polish each piece with patience and precision, allowing the surface, edges, curves, and details to be refined more carefully and beautifully.

This process brings greater control to the final appearance and helps each piece feel more complete, more balanced, and more true to the character of the stone. Depending on the material and project, selected finishes may include polished, honed, flamed, bush-hammered, rough-picked, chiseled, or other hand-crafted surface effects.

STEP SIX

Sealing & Surface Protection

After finishing, the stone surface is treated according to the material and intended use. Sealing and surface protection help support daily use, moisture resistance, and long-term care, especially for bath pieces, vanities, sinks, tabletops, and hospitality projects.

Natural stone still requires thoughtful care, but proper finishing helps each piece remain functional, beautiful, and lasting.

Quality inspection and fit check for a finished natural stone piece in the workshop

STEP SEVEN

Quality Inspection & Fit Check

Before packing, each piece is checked for surface quality, dimensions, balance, edges, drainage details, finish consistency, and overall appearance. For modular furniture, assembly and fit may also be checked. For sinks, bathtubs, and vanities, basin shape, drainage areas, and functional details are reviewed carefully.

This final inspection helps ensure that the finished piece is ready for its intended space.

STEP EIGHT

Export-Ready Packing & Delivery Preparation

Natural stone is heavy, valuable, and fragile during transportation, so careful packing is part of the craft. Each finished piece is prepared with protective materials and export-ready packing according to size, weight, shape, and destination.

From single residential orders to project-based shipments, proper packing helps protect the finished work from workshop to final delivery.

Craftsmanship Across Furniture, Bath & Custom Projects

OIXDESIGN craftsmanship supports a wide range of natural stone pieces, including stone coffee tables, side tables, dining tables, cocktail tables, vessel sinks, pedestal sinks, integrated basins, stone bathtubs, stone vanities, and custom bath project pieces.

Because each product type requires different technical decisions, our process changes according to material, shape, weight, function, finish, and project requirements. A bathtub must balance comfort, hollowing, drainage, and structural stability, while a table must balance proportion, assembly, surface quality, and long-term placement.

This is why natural stone craftsmanship is not a single step. It is a complete process from material selection to final delivery.

Artisan Craftsmanship FAQs

Q: Are OIXDESIGN pieces handcrafted?

Yes. OIXDESIGN pieces are shaped through skilled natural stone craftsmanship, including cutting, carving, hollowing, edge refinement, finishing, inspection, and protective packing. Different product types require different levels of hand-finishing and technical work.

Q: What types of products does your craftsmanship support?

Our craftsmanship supports natural stone furniture, stone sinks, stone bathtubs, stone vanities, and custom bath project pieces. This includes sculptural tables, vessel sinks, pedestal sinks, integrated basins, wall-mounted sinks, freestanding bathtubs, and project-based stone pieces.

Q: Why is hand craftsmanship important for stone sinks and bathtubs?

Stone sinks and bathtubs require more than surface finishing. They need careful shaping, hollowing, drainage planning, edge refinement, thickness control, and comfort consideration. Skilled craftsmanship helps turn a solid stone block into a functional and sculptural bath piece.

Q: What stone finishes do you offer?

Depending on the stone type and project, selected finishes may include polished, honed, flamed, bush-hammered, rough-picked, chiseled, and other hand-finished surface effects.

Q: Can custom dimensions or shapes be supported?

Yes. OIXDESIGN supports custom dimensions, shapes, stone types, and finishes for natural stone furniture, sinks, bathtubs, vanities, and custom bath project pieces. Each request is reviewed based on material, structure, size, technical feasibility, budget, and project requirements to ensure the finished piece is both beautiful and practical.

Q: How are finished stone pieces packed for delivery?

Finished stone pieces are packed according to size, weight, shape, and destination. Heavy or fragile pieces such as stone bathtubs, vanities, sinks, and tables require protective export-ready packing to support safer long-distance transportation.
